The Harry Potter series delves into a fantasy world filled with wizards, witches, magical creatures, and much more. By reading this series, Ellis students will be able to place themselves in Harry Potter’s world and join him on many adventures.



lunarchronicles-threecovers.pngThe Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer are futuristic versions of fairy tales. The chronicles are great for lovers of science and fairy tales as the series combines Disney fantasies with dystopian works.



If you like romance novels, The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare is a must-read for you. The six book series is a vision into the trials and tribulations of going from adolescence into adulthood.


Carry On by Rainbow Rowell follows the Chosen One, Simon Snow, through his last year at Watford School of Magicks. Simon must deal with breakups, classes and friendships, all while trying to defeat the evil Humdrum. This is a definite read for any Ellisian.

The Giver shows readers the relationship between an old man who is a town’s sole keeper of memories and his mentee, Jonas. Any student who wants to question the meaning of life should read this book.
