On Wednesday, January 25th, the Ellis School had the chance to experience the culturally abundant Hammer step, which is a group located in New york that is dedicated to music and the importance of Culture. Hammerstep performs song and dance that incorporates Irish jig, martial arts, hip-hop and classical. As they performed, the Ellis students happily joined in with call and response as Hammerstep educated the students on the specific parts that encompassed their performance. Sophomore Peyton Ferris said, “The guy who played the cello was so good, it made me want to stop playing”. Also, sophomore student Abigail Hong said, “I loved how the group incorporated the cultures that they were born and raised in”
